History
Over Half a Century of Providing Effective Healthcare Services
Baxter Health initially opened in 1963 as Baxter General Hospital, an acute-care
medical center with 4 physicians and 39 beds. Today, Baxter Health boasts
268 all-private beds with more than than 180 primary care and specialist
physicians and mid-level providers on our medical staff. Under Arkansas
law, Baxter Health is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation governed

Baxter Health encompasses about 500,000 square feet of space and is the
single largest employer in Baxter County, employing over 2,000 people
