Ed & Gayle Goodman Sim Center
The Ed and Gayle Goodman Simulation Center is a state-of-the-art training facility for clinical nursing that provides access to detailed, simulated environments using advanced medical manikins. These manikins have vital signs such as heart rhythms, blood pressure and heart rate and respond to stimulation from outside sources and medication.
Since the opening of the Sim Center, clinical staff have been able to become
more confident practitioners and have been able to master new clinical
skills here on the Baxter Health main campus. Simulation training gives
nurses the necessary knowledge and skills to respond confidently in emergent
situations.
The Ed and Gayle Sim Center is also a huge asset for our Mountain Home
High School White Coat Internship. High-school students wanting to explore
the medical field, namely nursing, spend several days in the Sim Center
throughout their High-school career, learning from our hospital department
directors and completing real-world scenario training for their respective
fields of medicine on our high and mid-fidelity simulation manikins.
Simulation Manikins
High and Mid-Fidelity Manikins with varying functionalities are used in fully functional hospital rooms specifically designed for monitoring the progress of nurses in the simulated setting.
