Baxter Regional Medical Center is pleased to again offer the Dr. Robert L. Kerr Medical Student Scholarship, established to assist medical students from the BRMC service area with tuition expenses. The goal of this scholarship is to encourage current medical students to practice in the BRMC service area after completion of their medical degree. "We have great pride in our area medical students, and we are excited to offer this opportunity to them as we strive to become the best comprehensive, high quality regional medical center in the nation,” said Ron Peterson, Baxter Regional Medical Center President and Chief Executive Officer.
Scholarships are presented annually, and applications are available now for the 2015-2016 academic year. To be eligible, students must show proof of enrollment in an accredited medical program leading to a degree of medical doctor or doctor of osteopathy and demonstrate permanent residency in the BRMC designated service area (including the following counties: Baxter, Marion, Fulton, Izard, Sharp, Stone, and Searcy in Arkansas, and Ozark County, Missouri). Students may apply online or obtain an application from Bobbi Brown, Physician and Advanced Provider Recruiter, at 870-508-1010 or bbrown@baxterregional.org.
Funding for this scholarship is provided by the Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation.
2015 applications are due June 15, with scholarships awarded August 1.
