Anyone in our community with an interest in any type of needlework is invited to join Threads of Hope, a new group formed at the Peitz Cancer Support House (PCSH) of BRMC. Attendees may knit, crochet, sew, quilt or do any type needlework - or may just want to learn how!
The group provides different things to different people. Cancer survivors may learn a craft to help pass the time between or after treatments. For some, it may provide a way to give support to others, even if theyandrsquo;re not a cancer survivor; for others it may be for enjoyment and friendship. The group may make lap robes and shawls that are distributed to patients in treatment or items crafted may be donated to the PCSH. The group offers lots of encouragement and support as attendees spend time at their weekly meetings, and they may just learn a new stitch or two!
Threads of Hope meets every Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the PCSH, located just across Hospital Drive from the Cline Emergency Center entrance of BRMC. For more information about Threads of Hope, call the PCSH at (870) 508-CARE (2273) or email Melissa Hudson, PCSH Coordinator, at mhudson@baxterregional.org.
