Rick and Pam Fairlamb recently made a generous donation to Baxter Regional Medical Centerand#39;s (BRMC) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program to purchase a LIFEPAK® 15 monitor/defibrillator. Rick and Pam have been volunteers at BRMC since 2010 and have performed many volunteer tasks since that time. Recently they have found themselves at the helm of a very important volunteer-led function - leading new employees on a tour of the hospital to familiarize them with the intricacies of the facility. Rick and Pam will be the first to tell you they also learn something new each time they lead one of these tours.
Their recent donation to purchase the additional LIFEPAKandreg; 15 for BRMC EMS was a direct result of what they observed from Ambulance Services Supervisor Chris Fry, EMT-P, on one such tour. The LIFEPAK® 15 is the most advanced monitor/defibrillator on the market. It establishes the standard in innovation, operations and toughness, thus enhancing the patient care provided by BRMC Ambulance staff and Cline Emergency Center. The LIFEPAK® 15 allows data connectivity to easily and securely collect and send patient information directly to physicians and staff from the ambulance.
As the new LIFEPAKandreg; 15 was being installed in a BRMC ambulance, the Fairlambs were on hand and described some of the motivation behind their donation. “We want the very best technology available at our hospital. Volunteering time and resources makes our lives more meaningful. It gives us a great deal of satisfaction knowing we have improved the quality of life in the community. We encourage others to donate their time and/or financial help. The rewards are amazing."
