See What's Scheduled this Month at the Schliemann Center for Women's Health Education!
Dr. Corey Smith, an OB/Gyn in practice at BRMC Obstetrics & Gynecology, is hosting a cervical cancer screening seminar Tuesday, November 14 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Schliemann Center for Women’s Health Education. Cervical cancer statistics, risk factors, outcomes, as well as information about screening and vaccines will be discussed. The seminar is free, and light snacks will be served. A Fibromyalgia Support Group meets monthly at the Schliemann Center for Women’s Health Education. Women currently suffering or who have suffered with fibromyalgia in the past are invited to attend. The next meeting is scheduled Monday, November 13 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The Schliemann Center for Women's Health Education Heart Exchange Support Group is scheduled to meet Thursday, November 9 from 1 to 2 p.m. Women with a personal or family history of heart disease or who have undergone a heart procedure or suffered from a stroke are invited to attend.
The Schliemann Center for Women’s Health Education offers monthly Childbirth and Breastfeeding Classes for expectant mothers. These educational classes focus on topics such as what to expect, breathing and relaxation techniques, comfort measures, pain management skills, infant care, advantages of breastfeeding, breast pumping, and how to adjust back to work and/or school. Along with the many joys, life with a new baby can present many challenges. New mothers are invited to stop by the Schliemann Center for Women's Health Education each Thursday afternoon anytime between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to meet with our Women, Newborn & Infant Support Coach. She will answer any questions you may have about your new little one, including breastfeeding support, developmental information, and can also provide a free weigh-in of your baby.
If you love to read and discuss all genres of books, the Schliemann Center for Women’s Health Education has a book club! The club meets once a month at the SCWHE.
