COVID-19 Vaccination Update

It was announced by Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson yesterday that through the Arkansas Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccination Plan, partial Phase 1-B vaccinations would begin Monday, January 18. Those in Phase 1-B include Arkansans age 70 or older and education workers including K-12, child care and higher education. Additional groups will be eligible in Phase 1-B as supply increases. Phase 1-B vaccines will be administered by local pharmacies and health clinics, and Baxter Regional Medical Center will help in any way we can once a process is in place.

This week, Baxter Regional is working diligently to administer the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine to those remaining in Phase 1-A, which includes health care workers, EMS, firefighters, law enforcement officers and other first responders.

Baxter Regional Medical Center and our associated clinics are waiting to receive vaccines and guidance from the Arkansas Department of Health regarding Phase 1-B. Things are moving and changing very quickly, and Baxter Regional will continue to provide information about Phase 1-B as we receive it. Please be patient and know that we look forward to as many people being vaccinated for COVID-19 as possible!
