Current COVID-19 Census & Statistics at Baxter Regional Medical Center
It's been a challenging few weeks at Baxter Regional Medical Center, as we are again seeing a rise in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. As of today, Friday, July 16, there are 341 active COVID-19 cases in Baxter County according to the Arkansas Department of Health, and there are 27 COVID-19 patients currently admitted at Baxter Regional. To put that number in perspective, our highest COVID-19 census to date was 34 inpatients on November 19, 2020. 90.2% of Baxter Regional COVID-19 patients admitted since March 1 have not been vaccinated, and only 32.8% of the population of Baxter County is fully vaccinated.
Just to our north, Southwest Missouri leads the nation in delta variant COVID-19 cases, and we fear we are not far behind. Delta spreads more easily and quickly than other variants. We urge our community to use caution in large groups of people, wash your hands often, wear a mask and get vaccinated. This is our best defense against the spread of COVID-19.
