Baxter Regional Medical Center Updates COVID-19 Screening Procedures
Baxter Regional announces an update to screening upon entry procedures while still maintaining CDC Compliance.
Effective May 1st, 2022, Baxter Regional Medical Center will change its procedure involving entry screening at the Hospital’s main campus. According to the CDC, hospitals are still required to screen all entrants into the hospital, however, unmanned electronic screening is allowed. Baxter Regional’s three main entrances and employee entrances are already equipped with electronic screening devices, making the transition to unmanned screening possible without disruption.
“We are making this procedure change in an effort to allocate staff to areas of greater need,” said Ron Peterson, President and CEO of Baxter Regional. “Since we are now able to make this change while still following CDC guidelines, we will be able to fill needs within other departments of the hospital.”
Baxter Regional still stresses the importance of screening upon entry and other forms of monitoring will continue to take place in an effort to maintain the highest possible safety to our patients, visitors and staff. Masks are still required in all patient accessible areas inside the hospital. For more information on COVID-19 procedures at Baxter Regional, please visit www.baxterregional.org/coronavirus.
